David Kirton at Reggae In The Valley

Barbadian singer, songwriter David Kirton's newest album 'Time for Change' got three nods from the Barbados Music Awards winning Reggae Artist of Year, Reggae Song of Year and Best video (male) with his hot track Green Camouflage. Miami's Caribbean Today wrote, "Kirton has struck the right chord. He brings to the marketplace a refreshingly unique aura... satisfying the mainstream audience, especially those who crave something new. "The UK's Sunday Mercury's Paul Cole wrote 'Already a triple award-winner in the Caribbean, the new album from Barbadian balladeer Kirton has the crossover appeal to break him big in the mainstream charts'.

The Canadian National Campus Review backed that up with 'He (Kirton) has busted out of the box with this, his third album, by blending elements of reggae, soul, rock and pop into a contemporary yet natural sound, which he then delivers with his exotically smooth, soul dipped voice'.

Kirton is no stranger to music, in 1999 he debuted with a Midem Cannes showcase at the Palais on World Beat night. UP writer John Swenson report headlined 'David Kirton tops new artists at MIDEM.' He toured with Reggae Giant Culture and was on the Spirit of Unity Tour. His catalog contains four albums Stranger RAS Records, Modern Roots BEM, Island Songs for Children CRS and his currant release Time For Change Universal / Right Recordings.
